What does it take to officially book my session?
A signed client agreement and a 50% retainer are required to reserve your session date. Your date is not held until both are received. The remaining balance is due prior to your session according to the timeline for your selected experience.
When is my remaining balance due?
For most sessions, the remaining balance is due 7 to 14 days before your session date. Your exact due date will be clearly outlined in your client agreement. We'll also send a reminder as the date approaches.
Is a payment plan available?
Yes. If spreading your investment out over time would be helpful, we offer a payment plan with no fees and no interest. Just let us know during your consultation and we'll work out a schedule that fits your needs.
Do you offer third-party financing?
Yes. Third-party financing options are available for clients who prefer them. Ask during your consultation and we'll share the details.
Changes & Cancellations
If something comes up
What happens if I need to reschedule?
Life happens. If you need to reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible. We'll do our best to accommodate a new date that works for both of us. Rescheduling requests made with reasonable advance notice are handled with full flexibility.
What is your cancellation policy?
Your retainer secures your session date and compensates for planning time and held availability. Retainers are non-refundable in the event of a cancellation. Full details are outlined in your client agreement prior to booking.
Delivery
How long does delivery take?
Most digital collections are delivered within 7 to 10 business days of your ordering appointment. Most of our print products are delivered within 2-4 weeks of your ordering appointment. Rush delivery is not available as every image receives individual attention and professional retouching.
How will my images be delivered?
Your images are delivered via a private, password-protected online gallery. You'll receive both high-resolution files suitable for print and web-optimized files ready for digital use. Gallery access windows vary by service; details are included in your client agreement.
When are printed products delivered?
Physical products, including matted prints, folio boxes, and albums, are ordered following your ordering appointment and delivered separately. Production and shipping timelines vary by product and will be communicated at the time of ordering.
Image Rights
Who owns the copyright to my images?
Art of You Portraits retains the copyright to all images created during your session. This is standard practice in professional photography. Your usage rights are defined by the license included with your collection.
What can I do with my images?
Personal use licenses; included with Portrait, Boudoir, and Story Sessions; allow you to use your images for personal purposes including social media, dating profiles, personal websites, and sharing with friends and family. Images may not be sold or used commercially to generate income under a personal use license.
What about Personal Branding collections?
Personal Branding collections include a commercial usage license that allows you to use your images across your business; including websites, LinkedIn, marketing materials, speaking engagements, publications, and paid advertising for your own business or personal brand. Extended commercial licenses are included with the Premier collection. Specific terms are outlined in your client agreement.
Will my images be used on your website or social media?
We will never share your images without your explicit written consent. For boudoir clients especially, your privacy is treated with the highest level of care. If you're open to sharing your images, we'll ask separately, and a no is always respected without question.

How do I know which experience is right for me?
Every client starts with a conversation. Rather than asking you to choose from a menu, we'll talk through what you're hoping to create and recommend the experience that genuinely fits your goals. There's no pressure and no wrong answer.
What if I have more questions before booking?
