Every portrait experience is a little different, but there are a few questions that come up often. Here you'll find more about how sessions work, what to expect, and how we'll guide you through the process.
Planning Your Session

Absolutely. Most of the people we photograph aren't used to being in front of a camera. You don't need to know how to pose, what expressions to make, or exactly what you want before reaching out. That's part of what we'll help you figure out.

Start with what you want the portraits for and what you'd like to walk away with. During your consultation, we'll talk through what brought you here and recommend the experience that makes the most sense.

Yes. We'll talk through what photographs well, what fits the direction of your session, and what you already own. Depending on the experience, that may include wardrobe guidance, outfit selection, or recommendations for anything you may want to add.

Sessions can take place in our private Round Rock studio, on location, at your business, or in another space selected for the project. Where we photograph depends on the look you're after and the type of experience we're creating.
The Experience

You don't need to be.
Being comfortable in photographs has far more to do with how you're photographed than whether you're naturally comfortable in front of a camera. We'll guide you through posing, expression, movement, and the small adjustments that make a significant difference.

Yes. You won't be left standing in front of the camera wondering what to do. We'll guide you throughout the session, from where to place your hands to subtle changes in posture and expression.

Yes, but our approach is intentionally natural. Retouching is meant to polish the finished portrait without turning you into someone else. Temporary distractions can be removed, and we'll discuss anything specific you'd like us to be mindful of before your portraits are finished.

That depends on the experience we're creating. Rather than rushing everyone through the same amount of time, we plan the session around what we're photographing and what needs to be accomplished.

Yes. After your session, we'll guide you through selecting the portraits you love and deciding how you'd like to enjoy them.

Yes. Digital images are available as part of our portrait experiences, along with professionally made albums, folio boxes, prints, and wall art depending on the experience and how you'd like to use your photographs.

Yes. We believe important photographs deserve to exist somewhere other than a screen. We offer professionally made albums, matted prints, folio boxes, and wall art, and we'll help you determine what makes sense for your home and your portraits.

Only with permission. We respect that some portraits are deeply personal and others may involve professional or privacy considerations. We'll discuss image-sharing preferences with you rather than assuming you're comfortable having your photographs published.

Earlier is always better when you're working toward a particular date, especially if the portraits are for a milestone, gift, launch, or other deadline. If your timing is tighter, reach out anyway. We'll let you know what's realistically possible.
