Thinking About a Boudoir Session? Start Here

If you've found your way here, welcome.

Whether you're researching boudoir photography for the first time, gathering ideas for a future session, or simply curious about what happens behind the scenes, I'm glad you're here.

After years of photographing women from all walks of life, I've noticed something interesting. Most people have the same questions about boudoir.

“What should I wear?”

“Do I need to lose weight first?”

“What if I'm awkward in front of the camera?”

“How much editing is involved?”

“What exactly is boudoir photography anyway?”

If that's one of the questions that brought you here, I'd recommend starting with What Is Boudoir Photography? Everything You Need to Know Before Booking a Session.

And probably the most common question of all:

"Can someone like me really do this?"

The answer is yes.

Not because you're supposed to look a certain way, but because boudoir photography was never meant to be reserved for models or people who are naturally comfortable in front of a camera.

Most of the women who walk into our studio aren't models. They're mothers, teachers, nurses, business owners, brides-to-be, wives, and women navigating all kinds of different seasons in life.

Many are excited.

Many are nervous.

Most are both.

That's a big reason this blog exists.

Over the years, I've had countless conversations about confidence, body image, privacy, relationships, preparing for a session, choosing outfits, and what it's actually like to see yourself through someone else's lens.

Instead of answering those questions one conversation at a time, I wanted to create a place where you could find honest answers whenever you need them.

No pressure.

No sales pitch.

Just real information from someone who spends a lot of time helping women navigate an experience that can feel exciting, intimidating, and empowering all at the same time.

You'll find articles covering everything from preparing for your session and choosing outfits to understanding professional retouching and overcoming common fears. I'll also share stories, lessons I've learned along the way, and occasional behind-the-scenes insights from life in the studio. Maybe even some recommendations for some good Rom-Coms. I'm a sucker for movies and am definitely a hopeless romantic at heart.

If you've ever watched a romantic comedy where the main character spends the entire movie doubting themselves, only to finally see what everyone else saw all along, you've already experienced the emotional side of what many women discover during a boudoir session.

Not because photography changes who they are.

Because sometimes it helps them see themselves a little more clearly.

My hope is that this blog becomes a helpful resource, whether you're actively planning a session or simply exploring the idea for the first time.

Thanks for being here, I look forward to sharing more with you!
